'Fahrenheit fair enough' Telefon Tel Aviv

Everybody dies, returning re-usable physical weight, leaving behind whatever, maybe only a few short-lived memories or perhaps great music.

brake like a retard

Finally my new pistons and seal/ring kit arrived that I needed to overhaul the z32 rear calipers. My first ever caliper overhaul went smoothly, now just get them on the car and start getting things together for the fonts. Taking my time (read: TOO SLOW)

note* sard injector boxes should be used to show off calipers. Showoff >_<

rims

Prices in Japan seem so unfair take for example these rims that only took a few seconds to find ~_~:

SSR Vienna Kreis in 18x9+et8 18x10+et10 114.3x4/5 for only 20.000Yen

Or these Veilside Andrew 18x10et+22 18x12et-10114.3x4/5 at only 99.800Yen

Having imported quite a few sets of rims from Japan myself the reason for me calling these prices unfair is because I'm Jealous. Before I have a set arrived in the Netherlands with added taxes and shippingcosts the initial purchase price has in some cases doubled. But the grass always seems greener on the other side, right? Well, in this case... in a way it does only seem that way, I once had the privilege being driven over the wangan in Tokyo in a highly modified 600ps bcnr33 gt-r v-spec. An immaculate dark blue example with white centered/polished lip 18" nice offset Work Meister sp1's (sticking to my obsession with rims). During our talk I asked the guy driving the car if he received a lot of attention with it and amongst other things he told me no, it was nothing special in Japan.

In all fairness, if you're building a car to use on the streets you can't deny you also like your car to stand out from the rest, in speed, style or whatever... I know I do to some extend. Scarcity and high prices for cool import parts help in that respect, being individual. It's a lot easier for me in the Netherlands than for the guy in Japan, maybe I should consider myself lucky (although being close to the UK doesn't really help, but that's a different story), or am I just trying to find excuses to justify spending too much on my car.

Passing by

Great relaxing music by Ulrich Schnauss makes you forget your stressful week. Don't care much for the pictures eventhough they were taken in a City a 20min drive away from me.

christmas time

Aah, it's always like christmas when a package is delivered, one came in yesterday containing my new rear brake discs. Still waiting for a refurbish kit for the calipers that I just painted to match the front.

auction finds

One of my favourite past times is to browse the yahoo auctions in search of cool car parts, it's basically how I put my car together. As I'm not really that wealthy (no fakes for me, but quality on a budget or used quality products) mostly I just favourite the auctions I like and watch what they went for afterwards. Some recent picks:

JUN 2.2 sr20det stroker kit 66,000JPY -_-

R33 gearbox with OS-giken close ratio gear kit and partial sr20 bellhousing welded on to get it to fit on an sr20 s-chassis + modified driveshaft. I'm on the lookout for a nice transmission but prices are so high  , this went for 220,000JPY

Endless brackets for 6-pot compact mini calipers, these are mine now for 3,000JPY!! I'm cheap.

Genius Party Beyond'

My brother and I went to our local theatre in Breda to go watch the Eureka7 movie. We got there early to talk and drink something before the movie started. We had allready paid for our tickets when a nice lady from the theatre came up to us. She told they had some technical problems and couldn't get the movie to work, but they had 'some other' Japanese animation lying around. We were quite disappointed but agreed we'd just watch the other movie instead which happened to be genius party beyond. A compilation of unconventional shorts from Studio 4°C. I'll share the first and by far most conventional and least dark short with you:

From a toddler's nightmare (spot the r34 gt-r) and a girl seemingly losing herself to a freaky surreal and forbidden addiction, to a gang pimping one of its 'physically appealing' female members in a humorous way. To me watching genius party beyond in our local theatre was a nice surprise and at times a skin shivering experience. Even people who don't like the lack of narrative have got to love the visuals. Still haven't seen the Eureka7 movie yet....

Just imagine

I don't exactly know why I started this blog. Of couse I'm inspired by all these cool blogs that I like to read from time to time, perhaps peer pressure is involved, trying to participate in the hyper socially interactive internet of today, and I like to think it's good for my English (being a Dutch native). But let's just say I'm a pretty shy (introverted) guy. even if no one will read this blog, and I'm realistic enough to know that no one probably will, I will still hesitate to express myself fully here. Crazy huh, a blog no one but the blogger himself reads and being afraid of what others might think of it, thus not writing everything that's really on his mind. Yup crazy, I hope I will grow out of that over time. I'll just wait and see, but for now don't expect to get to know me too much my non existent readers.
